SOHN
London born, Barcelona based songwriter and electronic musician Toph Taylor started releasing music as SOHN in 2012, beginning with a few tracks online that eventually led to debut 12” The Wheel on UK label Aesop. SOHN’s sound melded soulful singer/songwriter fare with abstract electronic beats, gaining immediate acclaim and plenty of press exposure. He was soon signed to legendary label 4AD, which release several singles leading up to his debut album Tremors, released in April on 2014.
 
Prior to the album’s release Taylor worked on remixes for artists such as Rhye, Lana Del Rey, Disclosure and more. Taylor’s writing and production work has also spawned a long a fruitful relationship with artist Banks’ as well as notable writing credits with artists including Rihanna, Nick Jonas and Stormzy.
 
For his sophomore studio album, 2016’s Rennen, Taylor took a more concise approach, preferring to highlight the vocal and melodic elements by utilising fewer layers on each track. Again this album was met with great critical acclaim, and took SOHN on a tour of the world.
 
In early 2018 ahead of his European tour, Taylor issued a pair of moody, downtempo singles, “Hue” and “Nil”. 2019 saw his perform his repertoire backed by the 54-piece Metropole Orkest to open the Netherlands’ Amsterdam Dance Event.
 
SOHN is currently working on his 3rd studio album for 4AD.
