Richard Breakspear (aka Reg B) is a music composer whose compositions have featured in Films, network TV series and trailers.
Known for his dark ambient style, his compositions are a blend of traditional orchestration with contemporary elements. Originally hailing from a small town called Lewes on the South Coast of England, he began learning to play guitar at the age of 10 after discovering his father’s record collection. Growing up he spent his youth obsessing over the art of songwriting and film scoring. He soon became an accomplished guitarist who shared the stage with the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Guns N' Roses, Slayer and Incubus. Richard relocated to Los Angeles, CA in 2007 and fast made a name for himself in the composing world. In 2010 Richard began composing music for hit CBS show CSI:NY and Top Gear USA. In 2011 Richard scored the short film 'Everything Carries Me To You' directed by Emma Holly Jones and starring Matthew Rhys (The Americans, The Post), Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom, Vikings) and Janet Montgomery (Salem, Black Swan, New Amsterdam). The film premiered at the Beverly Hills film festival and was met with glowing reviews. Between 2011-2012 Richard wrote the theme tune and additional music for The Chelsea Lately Show. His music has featured in trailer campaigns including Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Girl With All The Gifts, Lights Out, The Gallows, The Avengers, Sully, Power Rangers, Marvels Dark Phoenix. Marvel, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, CBS, NBC The CW and Fox have all featured his original music in their marketing campaigns. Richard recently completed the score for the Blumhouse horror “Prey” which had its world wide theatrical release in September 2019. Richard splits his time between Los Angeles and London and is currently scoring a feature film for Tremendum Pictures (The Gallows, Prey) due for release in 2020. |
