Mark’s music career began in the late 1980’s DJing at early Acid House parties in the North East of England. He co-founded the now infamous Atlas Records store in 1995 which became one of Soho’s most influential independent specialist record stores. Simultaneously he founded experimental record label Vertical Form which quickly became a leader in forward thinking electronic music and is now deemed a cult label of the genre. Following this he became head of A&R at the legendary Peacefrog Records signing the double platinum selling singer / songwriter Jose Gonzalez and critically adored electronic pop outfit Little Dragon. In 2008 Mark moved into music supervision initially specialising in commercials, branded content, fashion shows / films and trailers and then feature films and TV drama. In 2010 he launched the esteemed electro-acoustic recording company Village Green Recordings, an acclaimed and leading artistic platform for contemporary classical composers and electronic artists. He now operates independently as a freelance music supervisor working solely and exclusively for Film and Television, and is considered one of the most creative, discerning and respected supervisors in the field today.
Mark’s music supervision credits include 2025 hit-series Adolescence and Black Mirror for Netflix, Left Bank Pictures’ This City is Ours for BBC and Amazon MGM feature Deep Cover. 2024 saw Mark supervise Brock Media’s acclaimed film The Outrun starring and produced by Saoirse Ronan, Channel 4 drama The Gathering, and BAFTA-nominated ITV series G'Wed, now renewed for its third season. Other credits include Netflix and Moonage Pictures’ crime-drama series BODIES (2023), BBC One’s Boiling Point series (2023), primetime TV series including ITV Studios’ Maternal, BBC’s The Responder and Saul Dibb’s The Salisbury Poisonings. |
