Kyle Newmaster has been providing music for film, television, games, and the concert stage for over 15 years. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and earned a Master's degree in Composing for Contemporary Media from the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Newmaster composes the score for the epic CBS summer adventure series "Blood & Treasure" which debuted in 2019, and was created by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia. He also recently composed the horror-comedy score for "Pooka Lives", which was directed by Alejandro Brugues' and was part of the Blumhouse/Hulu horror feature anthology series "Into the Dark". In 2019, Newmaster was the score producer and lead orchestrator for Disasterpeace in David Robert Mitchell's noir thriller "Under the Silver Lake," starring Andrew Garfield. Some of Newmaster's other film credits include the score to the well-received family drama "Where Hope Grows," directed by Chris Dowling; "The ABC's of Death 2, Segment E," directed by Alejandro Brugues; and "The Myth of the American Sleepover," written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, which was an official selection at the 2011 Cannes Festival du Film.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Newmaster's deep-rooted interest and talent in music comes from his family. His great grandfather was a published composer for military bands, and his father studied classical music and played a key role in Newmaster's musical training at a very young age.
Newmaster is often sought out to compose and arrange for a variety of orchestras and large ensembles. Some of his compositions and arrangements have been performed by orchestras including the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, the Cape Symphony, The Boston Landmarks Orchestra, The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Indianapolis symphony.
When he is not writing music, Newmaster is an active professional trumpet player and continues to perform and record in a variety of groups. Kyle has toured with "The Brian Setzer Orchestra", performed in the "Seth Macfarlane Big Band", and has recorded for numerous TV shows and films including Family Guy, Cleveland, America's Got Talent, The Middle and American Dad.
