Haim Mazar began playing piano at the age of five and quickly discovered that music was the truest way he could express himself. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he moved to Los Angeles, where he built a versatile career spanning film, television, animation, themed entertainment, and global advertising.
He is currently composing the score for the upcoming installment of the Scary Movie franchise and recently composed and conducted Disney’s dialogue-free animated short VERSA. His film work spans a wide range of genres, including The Iceman starring Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, and Chris Evans; the cult horror favorite The Taking of Deborah Logan; Desperation Road starring Garrett Hedlund and Mel Gibson; the sci-fi drama Gray Matter, documented as part of Project Greenlight; Half Baked: Totally High, the sequel to the cult comedy classic; I Am Wrath, the John Travolta and Christopher Meloni action thriller; and additional music for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. For series, Haim composed the score for Hulu’s Woke and Netflix’s Sneakerheads, and contributed music to long-running hit series, MTV’s Teen Mom and USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best. His work for Disney Parks and large-scale destination entertainment has been experienced by millions of guests worldwide. His score for Believe! Sea of Dreams at Tokyo DisneySea anchors one of the resort’s most celebrated nighttime spectaculars. He also arranged, orchestrated, and conducted Tapestry of Happiness at Disneyland, now a signature musical experience for the park. Additional projects include arranging and orchestration for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure, original music for the Adventureland BGM loop at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Moana: A Homecoming Celebration, Dreams Take Flight, and work featured as part of the D23 Expo. Beyond the screen, Haim has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, arranging and producing for Grammy winner PJ Morton, Broadway star Eden Espinosa, Japanese pop icon Misia, and the Jonas Brothers. His commercial work includes campaigns for major global brands and Super Bowl spots, reflecting the same versatility that defines his work across film and television. In addition to his creative work, Haim has taught at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Berklee College of Music, and Berklee’s summer program in Los Angeles. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three children, where he continues to tell stories in the language that has always felt most natural to him: music. |
