Bo Boddie is a composer, guitarist, pianist, and music producer. Beginning his musical study with classical piano at 5 years old and guitar at 12 years old, he studied both instruments through both college (Skidmore, Berklee) and graduate school (NYU).
His professional career began in record production in New York City, where he engineered or mixed projects for artists like Santana, Everlast, Korn, George Clinton, Anthony Hamilton, Nile Rogers, Joss Stone, and many more. He received a Grammy in 2003 for his engineering work on Norman Brown’s Just Chillin’. He also played in and produced many bands including Psychic Friend (Dangerbird Records) with Will Schwartz of Imperial Teen and Patty Schemel of Hole. After moving to Los Angeles in 2010 Bo decided to move out of the record-making business and focus on becoming a full-time composer for television and film. Starting out with musical contributions to shows like Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23, A to Z, and many others. Most recently, Bo completed the 6th season of Fresh off the Boat (ABC), the 2nd season of Insatiable (Netflix), and the first season of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist (NBC). He is currently completing the score to the Justin and Christian Long helmed Lady of the Manor, and will soon began work on the final season of GLOW (Netflix). |
