ANDREA BALENCY-BÉARN |
Andrea Balency-Béarn is a part French, part Mexican contemporary music and film composer based in London, UK, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music.
Born in Paris and raised in Mexico City, she has received commissions from outstanding ensembles and entities including the Nash ensemble, Riot ensemble, the Royal Academy of Music and New Movement Collective, and her work - which spans from solo and chamber music with live electronics to orchestral music - has been recorded and performed internationally. Andrea has worked on numerous music projects across Mexico and Europe, and she’s best known for scoring 2020’s Dance of the 41 for Netflix and Canana Films and La Cabeza de Joaquín Murrieta for Amazon Studios. In 2024, Andrea co-scored the BBC crime drama, Kidnapped, alongside composer CJ Mirra. Besides her career as a composer, she performs as a member of UK band Mount Kimbie. |
